I mean, whenever a z-list celeb passes, everyone claims that that person was “their favourite movie star/singer/whatever” even if they had never even heard about them before their death. Why is that?

People do that with those they knew in real life, too. I noticed back in high school that whenever a student tragically died, somehow everyone remembered being that person’s best friend. They collect pictures, talk about their “friendship” to everyone who will listen, write poems, etc. about them, trying to gain everyone’s sympathy…when in reality, they didn’t like the person who died, never noticed them, or barely spoke two words to them in passing. It’s all about the subconscious need for attention, trying to get others to feel sorry for them. People want you to think, “Look at me. I was so close to this person, pity me and my deep loss, you could never know how I feel.” It sets them apart, and the crying scenes and accepting people’s condolences makes them feel loved and important. It’s sick, but people usually do not even realize they are doing it.
Because death is something that comes to all humans, and when someone dies, it reminds us of our own mortality, changing our way of thinking about the person who died, because we know that we will never see them alive, again..
still, i am wondering, even a person who hate him now begins to like him????yes , why,now i think i got it, because of pity, yes , because of pity
I guess cause that person is never coming back
or making any other movies/music again.
So people start to appreciate them and what they did more.
guess they want to get there face on tv hollywood star a shallow pathetic people that dont care about anyone but them self
Replacement is not much easier.
my name is kirsten too
lol and because they like to seem sympathetic and nice.
either respect or attention.
The same reason why painters get rich only when their dead……death is the best publicity stunt around.
hypocracy..
It’s called respect would you rather hate them after they died?
we can finally tell the truth about them
You don’t know how much you love something, until it’s gone.
You don’t know what you got till it is gone!
Because they will never get to see them again…
respect i guess
